Türk Üniversiteler Birliği
2013 yılında Eskişehir'de Bakanlar tarafından imzalanan Türk Üniversiteler Biriği ve Yüksek Öğrenim Alanı Oluşturma Yönergesi ile kurulan Türk Üniversiteler Birliği, Üye Ülkelerin üniversiteleri arasında farklı işbirliği biçimlerini teşvik etmektedir.

4 Nisan 2019'da Türkistan'da Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Uluslararası Kazak-Türk Üniversitesi ev sahipliğinde düzenlenen Türk Üniversiteler Birliği'nin Dördüncü Genel Kurulu (TURKUNIB) sırasında, Türkiye'den Gazi Üniversitesi, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi, Kapadokya Üniversitesi ve Macaristan'dan Szeged Üniversitesi, TURKUNIB'in yeni üyeleri olarak kabul edilmiştir ve böylece 2014'ten bu yana, üye üniversite sayısı 14'den 22'ye yükselmiştir. Yeni üyelerin katılımı, özellikle öğrenciler arasında, TURKUNIB içinde Orhun Değişim Programı gibi faaliyetlerin tanıtımına yeni bir ivme kazandıracak ve çalışmalarına katkıda bulunacaktır. Türk Üniversiteler Birliği, kuruluşundan bu yana Orhun Değişim Programı veya Öğrenci Konseyi gibi büyük ve başarılı projeleri yürütmektedir. Birliğin Orhun Değişim Programı, Spor Oyunları ve Öğrenci Konseyi gibi birçok faaliyet alanı bulunmaktadır.
Söz konusu faaiyetlerin yürütülmesi için 2014 yılından bu yana Sekreterya, Rektörler ve Rektör Yardımcıları düzeyinde beş toplantı ve dört Genel Kurul gerçekleştirmiştir. İlki Birlik içindeki faaliyetlerin koordine edilmesine yardımcı olurken, ikincisi Birliğin işleyişine yönelik ilgili kararları alır
The Secretariat advanced dramatically on the way to making the Orkhun process a fully-fledged exchange program. Over the past four years, the Turkic Council convened a variety of different thematic meetings aiming at integrating diverse educational modalities of the member universities such as the Bologna Process, Erasmus Plus, and European Credit Transfer System. These meetings included different sectoral and technical gatherings, field studies on the spot, and extraordinary conventions. As a result, during the 5th Union meeting, the parties adopted the draft regulation of the program, which was a massive step in its realization. The sides started the pilot phase of the project in the academic year 2017-2018. 43 students of member universities from the departments of International Relations and Political Science benefited from the program. The Parties agreed at the last Assembly in Turkistan, to include all relevant Departments depending on the capacity, which initially started for the Departments of the International Relations and Political Science, and Department of Turkology, and make the necessary amendments in the Transitional Article 1 of the “Regulation on the Orkhun Exchange Pilot Program of the Turkic Council Turkic University Union”.
